Mastermix in association with the choir Capela Gregoriana Psalterium presented , in the end of September, a new project with the title Missa Magnificus. This project is part of the Meeting of Choirs in Montemor-o-Velho and supported by the Culture Ministry, among other entities. |
Missa Magnificus was presented as an innovative and vanguard experience in the musical area, which seeks a deep immersion of the listeners in an involving sonority atmosphere by combining electroaccustic with an one voice choir.
In its version 1.05 Missa Magnificus combines the sonority of a choir for equal voices and electroaccustic sounds. The electronics is involved in a Gregorian sonority which coats and warms the spirits in a mysticism and a contrast between the antique and modern.
The modern is the result of electronically modified sounds, based on the first Harmoniuns made in Portugal and which have received several prizes and medals at that time. The whole concert is produced in an advanced surround sound, with eight columns and a computer.
This permits a manipulation of the sound in real time where the auditive and imaginative sensations are lead to the limit.
